Our goat is expected to have her first babies one of these days.
Normally she's very social, 'talking' to us when we enter the barn. Today she isn't. She's laying on her straw bed, stands up when we enter, then stands still, doesn't eat hay today, bows her head a little, gives a very passive impression. No couching, sneezing or discharges from eyes or nose. Passing some stool, the pellets look excellent and as usual. No bloating. Some teeth grinding. Her eyes are bright. Her udder looks unchanged: it's not swollen and there's no milk. We gave her some goat/sheep food pellets to eat and she ate them directly. She has 24/7 access to fresh water.
Since she's almost lethargic, we took her temperature. It's too high: 40,8°C.
