A fun video that shows you how to make your own chewing tobacco (this is for chew, NOT dip) at home, with a simple recipe, few ingredients and in very little time. with me as your teacher, Mississippi Feller! TO SKIP TALKING AND GO STRAIGHT TO RECIPE, SKIP TO 2:25. If you need any help, have new ideas, etc, leave me a comment, but check the FAQ section on the description below, your answer might be already there.
INGREDIENTS: Pipe tobacco, molasses, apple juice and salt.
And here's the whole process in 10 easy steps:
1. Pour about two fingers apple juice onto a frying pan and bring it to a boil.
2. Let it evaporate until there's just a little bit covering the bottom of the pan.
3. Pour more apple juice and repeat the process 4 or 5 times.
4. After doing that, make sure the last one leaves you with a thick, dark gold apple juice concentrate, but not thick as syrup.
5. Take it off the heat, and quickly add a couple of spoons of molasses. Stir it well.
6. Now add plenty of salt and mix it very well.
7. While it's all still pretty hot, carefully add the tobacco, a chunk at the time. Mix it all up well with your spoon, add more if necessary.
8. Place the chew, on a plate and let it cool off in a well-ventilated place.
9. Take what you are gonna use and put in a pouch, store the rest in your refrigerator in a well-sealed container.
10. COMMENCE CHEWING!!!
That's it. It's pretty simple and hard to screw this recipe up, really! But if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask me. Enjoy your chewing tobacky!
